Antić graduated from the Belgrade faculty of architecture in 1950, after years split between study and a post at the Ministry of Transportation, and worked at the state Jugoprojekt office until 1953 before starting independent practice in 1957. His reputation rests chiefly on a partnership with Ivanka Raspopović, with whom he designed the Museum of Contemporary Art in New Belgrade and, in the same years, the 21 October Museum at the Šumarice memorial park in Kragujevac — both built from repeated geometric cells resolved with an engineer's plainness rather than a monument's rhetoric. He later taught at the Belgrade faculty, becoming a full professor in 1973, and was elected to the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, first as a corresponding member in 1976 and a full member in 1983.
