Pinós studied at Barcelona and from 1983 to 1991 ran a joint practice with Enric Miralles, in which the two were equal authors of the Igualada cemetery, the La Llauna school at Badalona and the Olympic archery range; the standard credit line for those years is Miralles–Pinós, and reading them as his alone is a documented and persistent error. Working alone from 1991, she built the Torre Cube in Guadalajara, the CaixaForum in Zaragoza, the Massana art school in Barcelona and the Cube pavilions in Mexico. She refuses a stylistic label and describes her method as building a section that produces public space, in cantilevered and folded concrete that leans out over the ground rather than sitting on it. She received Spain’s National Architecture Prize in 2021.
