Andrew Makin co-founded OMM Design Workshop in Durban with Janina Masojada, and the two lead the practice together. In 1997, in their early thirties, they travelled to Johannesburg to join Paul Wygers of Urban Solutions on a submission to the open international competition for South Africa's new Constitutional Court; the partnership's scheme, built on the idea of justice dispensed under a tree, won from more than five hundred entries in 1998. Makin's other work with OMM has included social and institutional buildings in KwaZulu-Natal, among them projects addressing HIV/AIDS-related architecture. No Wikidata item exists for him; this entry is compiled from published accounts of the Constitutional Court competition.
